I recently had the pleasure of documenting a beautiful milestone for Anna and Zach—a couple eagerly welcoming their firstborn son, Oliver, into the world. One of the joys of my work is connecting with clients on a personal level. When Anna mentioned she was a teacher, a profession close to my heart, our conversation blossomed. We swapped stories about our experiences in education, figured out who we both have worked with, full circle! It was so nice to hear her speak so highly of her students and it is obvious that she is not only an amazing teacher, but she will be the most incredible mom. This connection fostered a comfortable atmosphere where I was working, but felt like I chatting with friends at the same time.

Zach, with his arms adorned in remarkable tattoos, brought an additional layer of depth to our session. Each tattoo told a unique story—symbols of personal experiences, passions, and artistic expression. As we discussed his tattoos, I gained insight into different tattoo art styles! Incorporating these tattoos into Oliver’s portraits was a heartfelt way to honor Zach’s identity as a father, creating portraits that were not only beautiful but also deeply personal.
