I’m here for the long haul.

Portrait & Newborn Photography in Richmond

My favorite thing about being a lifestyle photographer is watching my client’s lives grow and change.

Many couples I photograph for weddings reach out when their families grow and change. I’m there for their maternity and newborn sessions, their kiddos’ birthdays, anniversaries, and every moment in between.

You know how precious these moments are.

Otherwise, you wouldn’t be looking for someone to document them. But I’ve seen too many stressed-out parents dread getting portraits of their little ones because they just know it will be a chore.

Not at my sessions– years of teaching elementary art helped me develop a proven method to keep you and your littles content.

Instead of trying to change their behavior, we will change ours

Instead of:
  • Begging your shy little one to smile, we’ll act silly to make them laugh.
  • Bribing them with food, I’ll let them be my helper for the day.
  • Getting frustrated when they won’t sit still, we’ll have a dance party to get the giggles out.

I’m also into tickling attacks, playing games, and making the occasional potty joke to get everyone laughing.

What does that really mean? We’ll make your kids a true part of the process, so getting their portrait taken feels fun, not like a chore.

By the end of your session, your kiddos will be begging for “just one more” portrait of their biggest jump or fastest run and your wedding party will tell me they know who to call when it’s their turn to tie the knot.

More importantly, you will walk away with beautiful photos and happy memories from the experience.

When you have a newborn in the house, time seems to slow down and speed up all at once.

Of course, you love watching your little ones grow. But there’s something so special about those first few weeks; they’re always gone too soon.

I love taking newborn images. It’s the perfect way to document this fleeting moment– even though I know you’d love to get more sleep.

All my newborn packages come with prints, which means you’ll be able to pop those images into a frame and look at those adorable cheeks every day, admiring how fast your baby is growing.

Soon, your baby will be walking and talking and finding their way in the world (and I’ll be here to capture those moments, too).

This day is a big deal.

You’ve put in all this work and many hours, making every detail perfect. Then, your big day finally comes, and in a flash, it’s over.

We’ll get your family and wedding party portraits, of course. But my favorite images are always the moments when you forget the camera is there. The moments you may miss on your day because your attention is pulled elsewhere or you’re present with your new spouse.

Moments like your mom’s face when she’s watching you and your father dance, or the flower girl’s silly faces during your ceremony.

We’re here to capture every tear, laugh, and toast– so you can relive those moments whenever you want.

Oh, and I know you put a ton of effort into that decor. We’ll grab beautiful shots of those details, too.

Amy is amazing! She made an unhappy toddler somehow seem like the happiest kid in all our photos!

She was patient through it all and even had snacks and treats on hand for my little one! She was positive, professional, and extremely speedy in getting our photos to us.

My only complaint is that she took so many wonderful pictures, it was hard to choose which ones we wanted to keep.

We used Amy for our newborn photos. Scheduling was so easy and Amy was kind, punctual, and communicative. Our session went extremely well and she was excellent with our newborn and older children. I highly recommend Amelia B. Photography and look forward to working with her in the future.

We initially chose Amy because we wanted a photographer who would take charge and tell us what to do during photo time, and Amy did exactly that!

She was by far the most organized person involved in our wedding, and basically made our timeline for us. She was really quick in editing our photos and sending everything out - less than 3 weeks after the wedding - and sent us a shareable link so we could send the pictures to our family & friends. The pictures came out great!

We wanted to take the time to thank you for everything you have done for us & our family.

All your hard work and dedication really shines through in every photo you take! We definitely look forward to you capturing our day and also our future life’s moments.
